Deadline Types Explained
Early Decision
A binding agreement — if accepted, you must attend. Deadlines typically fall November 1–15. Only apply ED to your top-choice school.
Early Decision II
A second binding early round, typically due January 1–15 with decisions in February. Great if you didn't get in ED I.
Early Action
Non-binding early application round. Apply by November 1 and receive decisions in December. You can apply EA to multiple schools.
Regular Decision
Standard application round with deadlines typically January 1–15 and decisions released in late March or April.
FAFSA Deadline
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid deadline. Must be filed to qualify for grants, loans, and work-study programs.
Enrollment Deadline
National Decision Day is May 1. Submit your enrollment deposit by this date to secure your place in the incoming class.
